GET TO KNOW ME

Hey!

My name is Marina Fraser and twenty years ago I was born in Mojácar, a very small village deep in southern Spain. At the age of eight, I moved to Santander, right at the opposite end of the country.

Two years ago I moved to Brighton, searching for the opportunities and inspiration that I couldn’t find at home. I am currently doing a Marketing Management course at the University of Brighton Business School and it has awakened in me a real passion for social media marketing, creative work, media creation and marketing in general.

The course has made me very keen to start work in the real world as soon as possible, as I think there is no better way to learn about an industry than taking part in it right from the start. Not so long ago, when somebody asked me what it was that I wanted to do, what kind of work inspired me, I was painfully conscious that I didn’t have a clear answer to their question, and that really bothered me.

Thankfully, that particular problem has completely disappeared. I’ve found that I’m passionate about marketing: developing the basis for advertising campaigns, creating original content and managing social media. The digital world has created massive opportunities in the industry, giving everyone a chance to succeed and to be heard by thousands and thousands of people at a very low cost. But, of course, only those that can both stand out from the crowd and stay in touch with it will be truly able to make the most of these platforms and take advantage of all the potential benefits.
